on 25.9. 2018 (UN Global Day for Action). Stories4change Awards presented for the first time. Telling stories that resonate: that was the task at the creative workshop with Youth4planet in the large hall of the Markthalle Hamburg. As the most important tool, the almost 300 students and teachers from 10 different schools in Hamburg had brought their smartphones. At the invitation of Youth4planet.org and in celebration of the UN’s Global Action Day, they used their cell phones to make and screen a few dozen short films on water, exhaust fumes, energy or traffic. In their schools, they will continue their projects on climate change, accompanied by Youth4planet.

In addition, several young teams were honored for their film and campaign work at the climate concert with the Rapfugees on September 25 in the Markthalle Hamburg. The main prize was awarded to students of the Stadtteilschule Winterhude from Hamburg for their plastic-free campaign with music video, stage show, plastic collection campaign and more.

The prize, a cutting computer donated by the Professor Nowak Foundation, will support them in their work. In addition, the Rollei company has donated a reporter tripod worth 200€. Other prize winners are teams of students from the German-Luxembourg Schengen Lyceum for their music video, a plastic art action with film and a profound interview film on the climate crisis as a cultural challenge, and a team of students from Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, who with their film convinced the mayor of the city to introduce furniture recycling as part of the municipal bulky waste collection.
