Exploring climate change - An expedition of five young people into the Arctic
It’s five to twelve. That climate change is happening, finally seems to become consensus just in time for the big climate conference in Paris. What does this mean for children and young people who grow up with this fact and that have to deal in their life with the serious changes of our planet?

Young Environmentalists Unite to Tackle Arctic Climate Change
Five teenagers from three continents want to explore the consequences of climate change in the Arctic. The personal motivation to drive the 16-year-old Delphine by the UNESCO and climate-School in Hamburg with the international team to Greenland: “I want to help, that my generation sees its major task.” Your colleagues are Nesha and Kevin from Indonesia and Kalinda and Thomas from Australia. After the first meeting of the international student teams, they quickly find their common motto for the journey: “Are you ready to change your perspective?” So you want to motivate their friends and children and young people around the world, to the probably biggest challenge of their lives put.
Exploring Greenland's Arctic
In Greenland arrived at the edge of the Arctic, they go across the sea with open speedboats to founded by Vikings more than 1,000 years ago with today settlements Quassiarsuk just yet 32 residents. Everywhere Drifting icebergs, the result of heavy rains in recent days, which can be the huge glacier calving into the sea particularly intense – first evidence of the steady warming of the polar region. And a spectacular sight, the young people will go with an expedition to the edge of the pack ice on the ground.
Climate Change Impacts in Greenland
Their scientific companion, the climate scientist Professor Jason Box tells how rapidly conditions have changed here in the last twenty years. So a few years ago had to close the only crab factory, because now almost 1,000 kilometers to the north have migrated through the ocean warming the animals. Also on the almost four thousand meters thick ice cap of Greenland, temperatures are up to 16 degrees warmer than in the past. In streams, the condensate flows into crevasses on the glacier and accelerates the end crashes highrise high blocks of ice into the sea.
Overwhelmed by her impressions has dolphins in the end only one goal: “I want to clear up as many young people as possible about what is happening in Greenland and what we must now do everything.” Only by working together, the world will meet this challenge.
