UNDRR

The UNDDR (United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction) is a specialized UN agency that focuses on reducing the risk of disasters and building resilient communities worldwide. The agency was established in 1999 and is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The UNDDR’s mission is to support countries and communities in developing and implementing strategies and policies to reduce disaster risk and increase resilience to natural hazards and human-made disasters. Its work includes promoting risk-informed development, improving early warning systems, enhancing preparedness and response capacities, and strengthening recovery and reconstruction efforts.
