UNCCD

The UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification) is a treaty-based international organization that aims to combat desertification, land degradation, and drought. The convention was adopted in Paris in 1994 and currently has 197 member countries.

The primary objective of the UNCCD is to promote sustainable land management practices to mitigate and reverse the process of desertification and land degradation in the world’s arid, semi-arid, and dry sub-humid areas.
