Imagine a grey, treeless schoolyard made entirely of concrete. What do you think the kids will do there? Play hide and seek in the bushes? Discover plants and insects? Skip rope without being exposed to the scorching summer sun? Enjoy lunch together in a cozy, shaded spot? They won’t because they can’t. All of this could be different.

Imagine yourself a grey, concrete-only, treeless schoolyard. What do you think will the kids do in this schoolyard? Fulfil their desire to play hide and seek in the bushes? Discover all the different plants and insects? Skip the rope without being exposed to the strong summer sun? Have a collective lunchbreak on cozy places? They won’t because they can’t.

Imagine a small neighbourhood street. A cyclist is riding home from school. She doesn’t feel safe near the parked cars on the side of the road, so she rides in the middle. Behind her, a car approaches. The driver is a father, stressed because he’s running late to pick up his children from kindergarten after work. His GPS warns him he’s going too slow to arrive on time… All of this could be different.

Imagine you live in a small village without a local shop. The next one is a 20-minute drive away. But you don’t have a car. The bus takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. Since there’s no local farm and you really need something to eat, you take the bus. To avoid missing it, you arrive 10 minutes before departure. The bus stop is uncomfortable, the bench is way too small, and there’s no tree or shelter to protect you from sun or rain. All of this could be different.

Reimagine

Take Part

We invite you to take a photo of any space in Luxembourg ideally one you interact with. Then, reimagine that space.

This isn’t about simply editing a picture it’s about rethinking what that place could be. Every change you make should reflect something personal. You don’t need to write it down, but be honest with yourself about why you want that change. Trust your intuition, that’s enough.

And if you’d like, we’d love for you to share your reimagined space with us and the community.
