Screens don't lie

The project
Screens Don’t Lie is a media education project that explores how children, families, and digital technologies intersect with social inequality. Over four workshops, students wrote, filmed, and edited original content before creating a three-channel video installation, where three simultaneous perspectives—the child, the parent, and the system—invite viewers to navigate the complexity of screen use in contemporary society.

The Child
A pre-teen starting at a new school, trying to make friends and find his place. Between the pressure to fit in and the support of their parents, screens become part of navigating a new stage of life.
The Parent
A parent navigating screen time, responsibility and conflicting expectations while trying to support their children. The video explores the choices parents make and the social pressures and inequalities that shape them.

The Lobbyist
A social media lobbyist and single parent faces a moral conflict: knowing the potential harm social media can cause children while working to defend the industry behind it.
